Syria is buying stolen Ukrainian grain again
In the Syrian port of Tartus, ships delivering grain exported from the Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine have again been spotted. This time, it is the dry cargo ship Leonid Pestrikov (IMO: 9922122), which was loaded from July 3 to 16 in Komyshova Bay of Sevastopol. The shipper is the Agro-Fregat company. This was reported by the journalist of the SeaCrime project Kateryna Yaresko.
The Caffa ship (IMO: 9143611) is also at anchor in Tartus, which loaded about 3,000 tons of barley at the Avlita terminal in occupied Sevastopol on July 16-18. The grain exporter is the Khlebkom company from the Krasnodar Territory, which has already appeared in investigations into the theft of Ukrainian agricultural products.
Before the full-scale invasion and the fall of the Assad regime, Syria was the main buyer of grain illegally exported from Crimea. Now Damascus appears to be returning to this practice, ignoring international sanctions.
