Sunseed forwards in Ukraine set a new record
Forward sunseed prices set a new record. The reason was low stocks and limited supply of oil at the end of the season. This is reported by Spike Brokers.
The peak price for oil in northern European ports was traded at $ 1,300 / t, while forward sunflower prices in Ukraine reached $ 680-690 / t including VAT, depending on the oil content.
“It is worth paying attention to producers to lower prices for sunflower oil on the international market, starting in December. This indicates that the oil market is balancing due to increased supply. In particular, in the 25/26 season, sunseed production in the Black Sea region is expected to increase by almost 4 million tons more than last year,” the report says.
As brokers noted, the beginning of the season can become a trap for farmers who are undecided and postpone sales to later periods.
