Sunflower seeds processing capacity in Ukraine is 63% loaded
Almost all sunseed in the 2024/25 MY is intended for processing. This is reported by the Ukroliyaprom association.
“The utilization of sunflower seed processing capacities (according to the results of the season. — Ed.) will not exceed 63.1%. The increase in utilization could be achieved at the expense of rapeseed, but it is almost completely exported, and soybeans, which are also given export priority,” the experts specified.
The association notes that the uneven and unstable supply of sunflower seeds from farmers did not allow sufficient stocks to be formed at oilseed enterprises throughout the marketing year.
“This is confirmed by the fact that during the current marketing year up to 67% of the monthly transitional stocks of sunflower were in agricultural enterprises,” the association summarized.
