Stratégie Grains has increased its assessment of the oilseed harvest in the EU
In the current season, the EU agrarians can harvest about 32.8 mln tonnes of main oilseeds, which is 1.5 mln tonnes higher than in 2022/23 MY (31.3 mln tonnes). This forecast was published by Stratégie Grains.
According to the experts, the harvest of rapeseed in the EU is estimated at 19.7 mln tonnes (+0.2 mln tonnes to the previous estimate; +0.2 mln tonnes to 2022/23 MY). The upward adjustments are based on higher than previously expected oilseed yields in France, Romania and Germany.
The forecast for sunflower production in Europe is virtually unchanged at 10.1 mln tonnes, up 0.8 mln tonnes from last year. “The expected decline in production in Bulgaria will be offset by the increase in France, Germany and Italy”, – Stratégie Grains said.
