Start of the Russian barley export season
505.7 KMT of Russian barley was exported in July, or almost six times as much as in the previous month, but 29% less than in July 2020/21, UkrAgroConsult reports.
In July, Russian barley was only exported to 11 countries. Most of that month’s exports (174 KMT, or 34%) went to Turkey. For comparison, Turkey purchased just 3 KMT in July 2020.
Apart from Turkey, the following countries also stepped up purchases compared to last year: Iran (doubled), Belarus (+13%).
A decline is observed in demand from the following buyers: Saudi Arabia (-76% y-o-y), Jordan (-45%).
