Soybean harvest in Brazil is 94.3% complete

Brazilian farmers are approaching the end of the soybean harvesting campaign. By May 5, the oilseed had been threshed on an area of 94.3% of the plan (+3.8% for the week) or just over 42.6 million hectares. Such data were released by analysts of the national agricultural agency Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento (Conab).
It is expected that the entire crop in the country will be harvested from 45.2 million hectares.
At the same time, difficulties with harvesting have arisen in the major producing state of Rio Grande do Sul due to heavy rainfall in the region.
In addition, the rains also affected logistics: according to AgriCensus, producers of soybeans, rice and wheat had difficulties in getting the grain to the ports, which may affect the volume of national agro-food exports.
