Sowing Online 2021/22: winter wheat 46% sown in Ukraine
As of 4 October, winter crops planting in Ukraine was completed on 3.5 mln ha, representing 44% of the projected area (7.84 mln ha). The highest winter grains planting pace was reached by the producers of Sumy region, 94% of the planned area was covered.
Sowing progress as of the reporting date:
- winter wheat: 3.07 mln ha, 46% of 6.68 mln ha
- winter barley: 252.22 thou. ha, 25% of 1.02 mln ha
- winter rye: 105.69 thou. ha, 66% of 160.65 thou. ha
Winter rapeseed sowing in Ukraine was 96% completed on 987.85 thou. ha of the planned 1.03 mln ha. This oilseed crop sowing was finalized in 16 regions. Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions exceeded the planned areas having sown 105% and 104% of rapeseed, respectively.
The new crop progress in Ukraine as of Sept. 30 came to 47 mln t of grains and legumes on 10.74 mln ha. The average yield made up 4.38 t/ha.
