South Africa lowers corn and soybean crop forecasts
South Africa’s National Crop Evaluation Committee (CEC) has lowered its maize crop forecast from 13.39 million tons to 13.31 million tons. Production of white corn this year will be 6.34 million tons, yellow corn – 6.97 million tons.
Gross soybean harvest is estimated at 1.78 million tons (previous forecast – 1.81 million tons).
In 2023, South Africa will harvest 16.43 million tons of corn and 2.77 million tons of soybeans.
