Russian corn export results in MY 2020/21
67 KMT of Russian corn was exported in August (-50% from July, -59% from August 2019/20). Exports for the entire season totaled 4 MMT (-5% from MY 2019/20, -12% from the five-year average), UkrAgroConsult reports.
Iran is still the main importer of Russian corn despite a 40% slump in purchases from last season.
As before, the second biggest buyer is Turkey with a 25% share in Russian corn exports in MY 2020/21. Apart from Iran, the following major buyers also reduced imports compared to MY 2019/20: Vietnam (-78%) and Japan (-6%).
Other importers increased corn purchases from Russia: Libya (+26%), Turkey and Georgia (+15%), South Korea, China and the EU (more than doubled).
