The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia allows a slight increase in the grain export quota in 2026. This was announced by the director of the department of agricultural market regulation of the department, Alexander Malov, during the Golden Autumn agro-industrial exhibition. According to him, the volumes may increase compared to this year’s due to the expected harvest.

In 2025, the export quota for wheat was 10.6 million tons, while for barley and corn it was zero. The quota is valid from February 15 to June 30 and is accompanied by a floating export duty, the amount of which depends on the world market.

Russia introduced the mechanism for restricting grain exports back in 2021, explaining this by the need to “balance the domestic market.” Over the past season (July 2024 – June 2025), the country exported about 53 million tons of grain, including 44 million tons of wheat.
