Russia is the largest supplier of rapeseed meal to the EU
From July 2023 to February 2024, the EU imported 576.1 thousand tons of rapeseed meal from Russia, which is 40.3% of the total.
This was announced during his presentation at the online event “Challenges and opportunities of Ukraine’s accession to the EU. What should be known for agrarian and food policy”, Dr. Heinz-W. Strubenhoff said.
Import of oilseeds to the EU
“We need to ask the European community: why is this happening? Why do they continue to increase the volume of imports from Russia?” says Strubenhoff.
At the same time, Ukraine has become the largest exporter of rapeseed, sunflower meal, rapeseed and sunflower oil to the EU over the period.
