Russia is trying to influence the border crisis between Poland and Ukraine by dumping world prices for agricultural products and influencing information.

This was stated by Polish Ambassador to Ukraine Jaroslaw Guzy in an interview with Forbes Ukraine.

“For the first time in our interview, I have to say that Russia’s “fingers” are also here,” Guzy said.

According to him, Russia’s influence is not direct, but is manifested in the information sphere. Many negative posts on social media exist because Russians or pro-Russian groups are involved in the information war.

“There is a shift of the protest’s attention from EU policy to it. This is also an effective work of Russia,” the ambassador said.

He emphasized that it is not easy to counteract Russian information campaigns because Poland has freedom of speech, which is protected by the judicial system. Russians are exploiting the weaknesses of democracies. Another vector of Russian influence is economic.

“Many people ask why prices for agricultural products in the EU have fallen so much. Because they have fallen on the world market, where Russia sells grain at a dumping price,” Guzy explained.

As a reminder, on March 8, the Polish Sejm adopted a resolution to impose sanctions in connection with the import of Russian and Belarusian food and agricultural products to the European Union.
