Russia exporting barley at a slow pace

553 KMT of Russian barley was exported in September (-2% from August and -37% from September 2020/21). This season’s total exports had exceeded 1.6 MMT (-26% y-o-y).
As before, the main importer is Turkey with an export share of 31%. The country increased purchases 13 times from the same period last year, UkrAgroConsult reports.
Apart from Turkey, the following importers also boosted purchases from last season: Iran (belongs to the Others category): doubled, Libya and Tunisia (tripled).
A decline is observed in purchases from Saudi Arabia (-76%) and Jordan (-79%).
The season’s newcomers are Iraq and Qatar, which had purchased 88 KMT combined since its beginning.
