Russia continues to attack Danube ports to stop grain exports and raise world prices
On the night of September 7, the Russian Federation again attacked the ports of Odesa region with attack drones,” the head of the Odesa region government, Oleh Kiper, said.
This is the fourth attack in the last five days, which lasted for three hours. As a result of the attack, civil and port infrastructure, a grain elevator, and an administrative building were damaged in several settlements.
If on the night of September 6, the Russians launched 8 missiles towards Kyiv, which were destroyed by air defense, and 25 drones in Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions, of which only 15 were shot down, then on the night of September 7, 33 Shahed-136 /131 attack drones were launched in Sumy and Odesa regions, of which 25 were shot down.
Continued attacks on the Danube ports, which provide minimal volumes of Ukrainian grain exports, on the eve of and after Erdogan’s meeting with Putin, where a new grain agreement was discussed, indicate that Russia will continue to prevent grain supplies from Ukraine, which could improve budget revenues and Ukrainian agrarians.
In addition, Russia is trying to raise world grain prices in order to sell 60 million tons of its own and stolen grain from Ukraine as profitably as possible.
