Russia became the world leader in pea exports in 2023

In 2023, the volume of global pea exports reached the highest level in the last 20 years – almost 8 million tons, of which 41% were exported from Russia and 36% from Canada, – reported the analytical agency Russian Pulses Analytics.
According to Europak, in 2023, Russia exported 3.4 million tons of pulses, of which 28% were supplied to China, 21% to Turkey and 5% to Pakistan.
According to Rosstat, in 2023, the gross harvest of peas in Russia increased by 30% from 3.6 to 4.7 mln tonnes, while exports increased by 2.6 times to a record 2.9 mln tonnes.
