Russia announces new complications with the Black Sea grain deal
The Togliatti-Odesa ammonia pipeline is an integral part of the half of the grain deal that concerns Russia, Dmitry Peskov said.
The out-of-service Togliatti-Odesa ammonia pipeline complicates the situation with the continuation of the grain deal. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at a briefing on Thursday, June 8.
According to him, such an emergency can “only negatively” affect the fate of the grain deal: “We don’t know what kind of destruction there is, we don’t know what the Ukrainian side is going to do with this branch.”
“You know that this topic was an integral part of the half of the grain deal that concerned us. So, let’s just say, this is another very complicating moment in terms of continuing the deal,” Peskov said.
As you know, over the past few days, Russia has twice shelled the Togliatti-Odesa ammonia pipeline in Kharkiv region and damaged it. More than 130 tons of ammonia leaked. After that, the Russians started spreading fakes about a poisonous cloud.
