Romania: first sunseed crop estimates are positive

Сurrent weather scenario is beneficial for Romanian spring crops and it looks even better than in other large European producers.
Production recovery is expected in such major producers as Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania. Romania has a 27% share in the total EU sunseed area.
For the next 7 days Romania has productive precipitations in the key cropping region (South) and almost ideal temperature regime (slightly below multiyear norms).
However, we should remember that last year sunseed crop expectations for the EU and for Black Sea as well were record in June-July. In August the situation with crop conditions changed dramatically. UkrAgroConsult will continue watching the weather scenario for major sunseed producers and change the forecasts respectively.
