Risoil shipped 18 thou. t of Ukrainian rapeseed to South Asia

Risoil export terminal in the Port of Pivdenny shipped more than 18 thou. t of Ukrainian rapeseed in containers to the countries of South Asia, Nepal and Bangladesh. The reported volume of rapeseed was shipped within a six-month period (July-December).
The two countries import rapeseed for subsequent processing and usage in the food industry.
“The share of container shipments to Nepal and Bangladesh is close to 30% of the total exports of 63,000 t,” says Kostiantyn Tkach, trader at Risoil Ukraine.
The company notes that commodities shipment to Nepal can only be done in containers. This country is landlocked which makes the logistics rather challenging.
“Having established strong partnerships, Risoil aims to increase exports to these markets to 25,000 t by the end of the current marketing year (July-June),” comments Dmytro Minov, director of Risoil.
The export share of South Asia could reach 35%, which would be a record in this segment, he adds.
In December, Risoil was refunded with UAH 70.73 mln of export VAT.
Rapeseed production in Ukraine in 2021 totalled 2.9 mln t on 1.01 mln ha. The average yield stood at 2.86 t/ha.
