Record grain harvest expected in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan is expecting a record harvest. Grain growers anticipate a repeat of the 2011 harvest, when the volume approached 30 million tons. According to the assessment of the Union of Field Farmers, this season the sprouts are excellent, the weed is bought, to diseases of crops came out prepared.
“We all see what is going on in the fields. Great sprouts, July rains came as scheduled. According to numerous surveys of farmers, all, as one, say only good things, nothing to complain about. We have seen this for the first time. Everyone praises their fields, their bread,” Viktor Aslanov, chairman of the Union of Field Farmers of Kazakhstan, said on his Instagram page.
The Union made tours of farms. According to Victor Aslanov, Northern Kazakhstan is similar in vegetation “like a jungle.”
“Yes, there remains the weed factor, but I think it will be bought. Yes, there is still a risk of diseases. We also remember 2016, the rust. But unlike that period, this year Kazakhstan is prepared. We have already learned by experience. Many farmers have prepared in advance,” – said the head of the Union.
Recall, in 2011, Kazakhstan collected 26.9 million tons of grain in net weight. This figure was called a record. Such a high volume of harvest was collected only in the distant 1986, but even then the sown areas were 1.5 times larger.
