Last week, export demand prices for feed barley in Ukraine increased by another 200-300 UAH/t to 11,050-11,200 UAH/t or $224-229/t with delivery to Black Sea ports against the backdrop of low supply from farmers and the need to form export batches.

Over the past month, export prices for barley in Ukraine have jumped by 750-800 UAH/t and are already 800-1000 UAH/t higher than prices for feed wheat and corn, so farmers should take advantage of the current offers from traders.

In the first 28 days of November, Ukraine exported only 75 thousand tons of barley (compared to 157 thousand tons for the same period last year), and in total since the beginning of the season – 1.167 million tons, which is 59% lower than the corresponding figure last year (1.86 million tons).

Prices for barley delivered to buyers at international tenders increased by $4-5/t during the month to $267-269/t C&F, but further growth is not expected, as Australia will enter the market in December with a large supply of a larger-than-expected crop.

According to Reuters, on November 27, the Tunisian Grain Agency (ODC) held a tender to purchase 125,000 tons of feed barley of any origin, where it purchased 75,000 tons at an average price of 269.14 on a C&F basis, which is $4.64/ton higher than the tender price on November 7, when 75,000 tons of feed barley were purchased at an average price of $264.5/ton C&F.

The following batches of barley were purchased at the tender:

  • 25 thousand tons from Aston at $268.42/ton C&F;
  • 25 thousand tons from Aston at $269.42/ton C&F;
  • 25 thousand tons from Soufflet at $269.58/ton C&F.

According to the terms of the tender, shipment will take place from December 20, 2025 to February 15, 2026.

Eight companies participated in the tender. It should be noted that the bid prices increased and ranged from $268.42 to $285/t C&F.
