Poland to suspend duty-free trade with Ukraine from June 5

Poland will stop duty-free imports of products from Ukraine, which operate within the framework of the autonomous trade measures (ATM) mechanism, from June 5, 2025.
This was announced in the Sejm by the country’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk, reports RMF24.
“From June 5, this mechanism will not exist. We are returning to the pre-war situation in matters of the border regime,” Tusk said.
He stressed that the Polish government will take care of Polish economic interests, even if they “come into conflict” with the interests of Ukraine. According to Tusk, Poland wants to help Ukraine in a full-scale war with Russia, but this cannot happen at the expense of Polish producers, especially farmers.
