The export of grain from Ukraine is one of the priority areas of Polish-Ukrainian cooperation, Polish Deputy Prime Minister Jaroslav Kaczynski has said.
Kaczynski explained that Poland is currently unable to receive all the grain harvested in Ukraine: neither ports nor railways are ready for such a load.
“However, Kyiv is considering long-term prospects for transportation of freight through our country. Therefore, we are now concluding agreements that can serve as the basis for large investments. There is enough space in our ports, and the necessary investments can be raised quickly,” he said.
Gdansk is considered the main port for exporting Ukrainian grain.
“It is also possible to extend the broad-gauge railway line that ends in Slawków to reach Gdansk along the coal highway,” the Polish deputy prime minister said.
