Over 35 mln tons of new crop harvested in Ukraine

Ukraine has harvested 35.1 mln tons of new crops on an area of 9.549 mln ha. In total, 29.1 mln tons of grains and 5.8 mln tons of oilseeds were harvested:
- wheat – threshed on an area of 4.9 mln ha, harvested 21.8 mln tons;
- barley – 1.413 mln ha were harvested, with a harvest of 5.5 mln tons;
- peas – 212.2 thsd ha were harvested, with a total harvest of 461.6 thsd tons;
- millet – 40.8 thsd ha were threshed, 78.8 thsd tons were harvested;
- buckwheat – 28.9 thou hectares, harvested 45.4 thsd tons;
- rapeseed – 1.266 mln ha were harvested, 3.415 mln tons of seeds were harvested;
- sunseed – 780.8 thsd ha were harvested, 1.39 mln tons of seeds were harvested;
- soybeans – 541 thsd ha were harvested, harvested 1.01 mln tons of seeds.
In terms of grain harvesting, farmers in Odesa region are leading the way, having threshed 1.094 mln ha. Khmelnytsky region is ahead in terms of yields with 6.54 t/ha.
Agrarians in six regions – Vinnytsia, Volyn, Lviv, Poltava, Ternopil and Bukovyna – are harvesting sugar beet, which has already been dug up on an area of 3.9 thsd ha.
Agrarians in eleven regions are harvesting corn, which has been threshed on an area of 98.8 thsd ha. Almost all regions are harvesting sunflower seeds.
