Over 30 mln tons of oilseeds processed in the EU since the beginning of the year

The European Association of Vegetable Oil Producers (FEDIOL) estimated that more than 1.63 million tons of rapeseed were processed in October at oil extraction plants in the EU, which is the highest figure for the indicated month since 2016.

As for soybeans, about 716,000 tons of oilseed were processed at the enterprises, which is almost 200,000 tons lower than the September figures from FEDIOL and the final estimate for October 2021.

For sunflower, on the contrary, an increase was noted for the third month in a row: 415 thousand tons of seeds were sent to SEZs for further processing – this is 96 thousand tons more than in the previous reporting month, but 167 thousand tons less than the level of October 2021.
