One of the largest container operators in the world bought a stake in Ukrainian terminals
Swiss Medlog SA, the logistics division of the global container operator Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), has acquired 50% of the Ukrainian intermodal logistics operator N’UNIT, as well as 25% in the Mostyska cross-border terminal. This was reported to Forbes Ukraine by the co-owner of the TIS group Yegor Grebennikov.
Negotiations on the deal lasted about a year. This is the first such transaction by an international logistics player since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine.
Forbes estimates the value of the assets transferred to Medlog at $15–30 million. After the deal, Grebennikov’s share in N’UNIT decreased to 50%, and in the Mostyska Dry Port project – to 25%. Another 50% of the terminal, as before, belongs to Rinat Akhmetov’s Lemtrans company.
MSC is one of the largest shipping companies in the world, second only to Maersk.
