Officially, there were no complaints about Ukrainian agricultural products from EU countries last year
Ukraine receives almost no comments on the quality of agricultural products exported to Europe.
This was announced by the head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Serhiy Tkachuk, Ukrinform reports.
“We receive very few reports of inadequate quality of agricultural products exported to Europe: no more than 2-3 per month. Ukraine is a member of the European Rapid Alert System for Food (RASFF), so we can quickly respond to such comments. However, we don’t actually receive any notifications (official messages – Ed.) regarding phytosanitary procedures,” Tkachuk said.
According to him, notifications occur mostly in the case of private shipments of phytosanitary control objects, such as plant seeds, by Ukrainian citizens to another country.
“Such quality violations by individual citizens are indeed registered, but in 2023, Ukraine did not receive any official complaints from European consumers about agricultural products supplied by domestic producers,” Tkachuk said.
He noted that claims from European countries amount to no more than 0.1% of export volumes.
