More than 3.5 million hectares of spring crops have been sown in Ukraine

Ukrainian farmers sowed 3 mln 587 thsd ha of grains and pulses as of the first half of May, including
- spring wheat – 246.6 thou hectares;
- spring barley – 736.7 thou hectares;
- peas – 131.1 thou hectares;
- oats – 141 thousand hectares;
- corn – 2 265.8 thousand hectares;
- buckwheat – 8.34 thou hectares;
- millet – 10.9 thou hectares;
- other grains and pulsees – 46.92 thou hectares.
Last week, the total area under grains and pulses was 1 266.9 thou hectares, with Poltava region leading the way 179.2 thousand hectares.
Sugar beet was planted on 204.8 thou hectares, mostly in Vinnytsia region – 52 thou hectares. In total, farmers in 14 regions are sowing this crop.
Sunflower is being sown by farmers in all regions, with 2,725.6 thou hectares planted, with Poltava region leading the way with 357.10 thou hectares.
Soybean planting is underway in 22 regions, with 748.8 thou hectares sown, with Ternopil region sowing the most – 100.10 thou hectares.
