Ministry of Agriculture announced the results of the agricultural season in Kazakhstan
In 2025, Kazakhstan harvested a bumper grain crop, as well as a record volume of pulses and oilseeds. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Azat Sultanov at a government meeting.
“Despite consistently high yields of traditional crops, oilseeds and legumes have been significant growth areas this year. A record legume harvest of over 1.1 million tons was achieved, including 842,000 tons of lentils, 222,000 tons of peas, and 22,000 tons of chickpeas,” the Deputy Minister reported.
Also, for the first time, the oilseed harvest reached 4.7 million tons, including 2.3 million tons of sunflower, 1.3 million tons of flax, 521,000 tons of rapeseed, 286,000 tons of safflower, and 221,000 tons of soybeans.
The potato harvest exceeded last year’s by 300,000 tons, reaching 2.9 million tons.
Furthermore, the highest cotton harvest in 18 years was achieved – 428,000 tons. This year’s yield was 2.96 tons per hectare.
Previously, the Ministry of Agriculture also reported that 27.1 million tons of grain (in bunker weight) were harvested in the country this year, including 20.3 million tons of wheat and approximately 4 million tons of barley.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, in the first 11 months of 2025, gross agricultural output increased by 6.1% to 9.2 trillion tenge. Livestock farming produced 3.3 trillion tenge (up 3.5%), and crop production 5.8 trillion tenge (up 7.6%).
