MARS downgrades yield forecasts for major EU crops

The EU Crop Monitoring Service (MARS) has lowered its forecast for the average yield of corn in the EU from 7.24 to 7.03 tons per hectare, Reuters reports citing the service’s monthly report.
It also lowered its forecast for average soft wheat yields to 5.68 tons per hectare from 5.87 tons per hectare in its July report.
The yield forecast for rapeseed has been lowered to 3.07 tons per hectare from 3.10 tons per hectare. For barley, the estimate is reduced from 5.09 to 5.01 tons per hectare.
