Lithuania will check which regions Russian grain comes from for transit to the port of Klaipeda. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Baltic Republic.

“Minister of Agriculture Ignas Hofmanas signed a memorandum of understanding with his Ukrainian counterpart Vitaliy Koval, on the basis of which Russian grain transiting the port of Klaipeda will be checked for origin,” the text says. The purpose of the check is to make sure that it does not originate from the territories of Ukraine occupied by Russia.

The samples will be sent to a laboratory in the UK for testing,” Hofmanas said. Together with other Lithuanian officials, he was on a visit to Ukraine.
