The Ukrainian grain market is entering the 2026/27 season under growing pressure from high carry-over stocks and increasing global competition. According to UkrAgroConsult, the balance between supply and demand is shifting toward buyers, forcing market participants to rethink their strategies in both production and exports.

The accumulation of stocks remains the key factor shaping the market. Carry-over volumes may reach around 10.7 M mt, creating additional pressure on prices and limiting flexibility for producers at the beginning of the season.

Production dynamics are also adjusting to new realities. Total grain output is expected to be around 60.3 M mt, while structural shifts in crop areas reflect farmers’ focus on crops with better profitability.

Trade flows and export expectations highlight the need to clear accumulated stocks. Export volumes may approach 51 M mt, driven by the necessity to release inventories.

Analysts at UkrAgroConsult note that pricing dynamics, logistics costs and global competition are becoming decisive factors shaping market efficiency.
