Kazakhstan tops durum wheat exporters to EU
Kazakhstan entered the top 3 exporters of durum wheat to Europe, taking the first place. Turkey and Canada are next, reports APK News.
According to the report of the European Commission, in the season 2024-2025 durum wheat supplies from Kazakhstan to the European Union for the period of July 15 increased by 68.5%. This is the highest figure compared to other suppliers. The volume of exports on this date amounted to 19 thousand tons. It is noted that in the season 2023-2024 for the same period the volume of exports was 10.3 thousand tons with an increase of 26.5%.
The second place in the top was taken by Turkey. This country supplied 7.7 thousand tons of durum to Europe. Canada with the volume of 1 thousand tons completes the top three.
It should be noted that for other types of plant products Kazakhstan is not in the lists.
The information shows that a large share in supplies is occupied by Ukraine. It leads the top in supplies of soft wheat, barley, corn, sorghum to Europe. It also holds leading positions in shipments of flour, oats, malt.

Before the EU imposed duties on Russian agricultural products, Russia was the main supplier of durum wheat to European countries.
