Kazakhstan ready to supply up to 20 thsd tons of grain per month to Armenia via Azerbaijan
Kazakhstan is ready to supply Armenian consumers with around 15–20 thousand tons of food-grade grain per month, the country’s Ministry of Agriculture reported. The ministry’s subsidiary, Prodcorporation, is in talks with Armenian partners interested in stable wheat supplies, and in the future, shipment volumes to Yerevan could increase.
Last week, Kazakhstan sent its first-ever wheat shipment to independent Armenia via Azerbaijan. A train of 15 wagons carrying about 1,000 tons of wheat successfully traveled through Russia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, arriving safely in Armenia.
The pilot shipment consists of fourth-class food wheat, suitable both for general-purpose flour production and animal feed. The delivery marks the first step in establishing a stable grain corridor between Kazakhstan and Armenia.
According to Prodcorporation management, shipment volumes are expected to grow in the future if demand from Armenian partners remains strong. The company is already negotiating regular supplies of food-grade wheat.
In 2025, Prodcorporation has been actively exporting Kazakh wheat to foreign markets, including countries in Central Asia, the South Caucasus (Azerbaijan, Georgia), the Middle East (Iran), North Africa (Algeria, Morocco), Southeast Asia (Vietnam), and China.
