Kazakhstan plans to introduce export duties on soybeans and rapeseed

The government of Kazakhstan plans to introduce export customs duties on certain types of agricultural products in order to increase the workload of processing enterprises and reduce the raw material orientation of exports. Such a point is contained in the draft Comprehensive Action Plan for the development of processing of agricultural products and food industry for 2024-2028, which was developed by the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.
According to the plan, the issue of establishing export customs duties on soybeans, rapeseed and possibly other crops should be worked out by the end of 2024.
