Kazakhstan and Egypt are developing cooperation in the agro-industrial complex. On May 13, 2025, an official meeting of representatives of the Grain Union of Kazakhstan with a delegation of a private Egyptian company, an importer of wheat, was held in Astana.

According to the Grain Union, the parties discussed the prospects for trade and economic cooperation in the agro-industrial complex, paying special attention to the issues of exporting Kazakh wheat to Egypt.

During the negotiations, the participants expressed mutual interest in developing a long-term partnership. The Kazakh side emphasized its readiness to supply grain products to Egypt and expand the range of agricultural products supplied.

Egypt, being one of the world’s largest importers of wheat, is interested in diversifying its supply sources.

Kazakhstan, in turn, considers Egypt as a promising market for its agricultural products. As is known, in 2024 Kazakhstan harvested a record grain harvest, which allows increasing the country’s export potential.

In this regard, the development of direct trade relations with Egypt is of particular importance for Kazakhstan.

Cooperation between the two countries in the agro-industrial complex helps strengthen food security and opens up new opportunities for the export of Kazakh agricultural products to the markets of the Middle East and North Africa.
