Kazakhstan increases production and export of sunflower oil

Sunflower oil production volumes in Kazakhstan in 2022 are rapidly gaining momentum. According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, from January to September, more than 352 thousand tons of the product have already been produced in the country, which is 46.3% more than in the same period of 2021.
“Part of domestic sunflower oil is exported. Since the beginning of 2022, 173.1 thousand tons of products have been sold abroad, which is 2.7 times more than a year earlier,” the department’s materials say.
Experts also note that this year, Kazakh farmers have increased the sown area under sunflower – from 960.5 thousand hectares (2021) to 1 million hectares.
“Harvesting is coming to an end, to date, farmers have harvested 96% of the sown area of this crop and have harvested about 1.2 million tons of sunflower, which is almost 2 times more than last year’s figures,” summed up the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
