Kazakhstan increased grain exports to Central Asian countries
3.7 million tons of grain of the new harvest were exported in 2024, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture
According to KTZ, from September to December 25, 2024, 3.7 million tons of grain of the new harvest were exported, which is 54% higher than the same period in 2023 (2.4 million tons).
Exports to Uzbekistan increased 44% (from 994,000 tons to 1,427,000 tons), Tajikistan – 53% (from 385,000 tons to 589,000 tons), Afghanistan – 52% (from 120,000 tons to 182,000 tons), Kyrgyzstan – 22% (from 59,000 tons to 72,000 tons).
Exports to Iran (through the port of Aktau) increased 30.2 times, from 14 thousand tons to 435 thousand tons.
In general, 9.2 million tons of grain cargoes were transported in the first 11 months of this year, of which 2.2 million tons were transported domestically and 7 million tons were exported.
