Jordan’s state grain buyer purchased around 60,000 tons of milling wheat on Tuesday, traders said. Shipments are expected in the second half of April, and the deal was likely concluded with trading house Cofco at an estimated $261.25 per ton on a c&f basis (cost and freight included).
Other companies also participated in the tender: CHS offered $263.89 per ton c&f, Cargill — $266.74, and Ameropa — $265.37 per ton. Traders noted that prices and volumes may still be revised in further assessments.
Additionally, market sources indicate that Jordan plans to issue a new tender for 120,000 tons of wheat, with offers expected on January 27. Shipments will be scheduled for various periods in March and May. Separately, a tender for 120,000 tons of animal feed barley is also ongoing.
