Jordan purchases 50 thsd tons of barley at tender
Jordan’s Ministry of Industry and Trade on February 11 purchased 50,000 tons of feed barley of optional origin in an international tender. The contract was awarded to Ameropa at a price of $284 per ton on a C&F Aqaba basis, with shipment scheduled for the first half of May.
The tender originally sought up to 120,000 tons. Other participants included Bunge, which offered $286.45 per ton, Olam at $289.45 per ton, and Dreyfus at $290 per ton.
Jordan has also issued a new tender to purchase another 120,000 tons of feed barley, with offers due by February 18 and shipment required for May and June.
