Jordan canceled a tender for wheat purchase

On November 14, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Jordan canceled a tender for the purchase of 120 thousand tons of milling wheat of random origin. This was reported by Zerno On-Line agency with reference to European traders. The reasons for the cancelation were too high prices.
Five companies took part in the tender: CHS, Cargill, Vittera, Cerealcom, Nestwise, Ameropa, Aston. They offered wheat at $279-292 per ton. Jordan’s Ministry of Industry and Trade was willing to buy at a price not exceeding $275.
The next tender for the purchase of a similar volume of wheat will be held on November 21.
