Jordan buys about 50 thsd tons of feed barley in tender
Jordan’s state grain buyer purchased about 50,000 tons of feed barley in an international tender on Wednesday, March 11, European traders said. The cargo was bought from trading house CHS at an estimated price of $261.25 per ton on a C&F basis, with shipment scheduled for the first half of July.
Other major international traders also participated in the tender. According to market estimates, Cargill offered around $273.95 per ton, Louis Dreyfus $273, Bunge $266, Buildcom $272.27, Ameropa $272.90, and Olam about $264.64 per ton on the same delivery terms.
Traders also reported that Jordan is expected to issue a new tender soon to purchase an additional 120,000 tons of feed barley. The tender is likely to seek shipments in consignments of 50,000–60,000 tons with delivery scheduled for July and August.
