Iraq should harvest about 6 million tons of wheat this season
The Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture forecasts wheat harvest in the current season at the level of 6 million tons. This was announced by the head of the ministry Abbas Jabr, according to Reuters.
According to January estimates of USDA, the wheat harvest in Iraq for 2023/24 year is projected at 4.2 million tons (3 million tons in 2022/23 year).
In addition, Jabr noted that Iraq has reached self-sufficiency in wheat production in 2023.
