India has extended the permit for the supply of Ukrainian peas

Ukrainian producers are actively contracting pea supplies to India. Recently, India has officially extended the period of permission to supply peas until April 30, 2024.
Antonina Skliarenko, Head of the Community Of Pulse Producers And Customers Of Ukraine (SPPBU), said: “India is an attractive market for Ukrainian pulses producers. This country adheres to the policy of protectionism and actively restrains imports from other countries. Nevertheless, the export windows are constantly opening. Recently, India has officially extended the permission to import peas, which lasted several months, until April 30, 2024. Such opportunities encourage Ukrainian producers to produce pulses, especially small and medium-sized agricultural businesses. Another factor behind the increase in pulses, particularly peas, was the opening of the Chinese market to Ukraine.”
According to the SPPBU, the increase in pea acreage in 2024 could reach 20%.
