In November 2021, Turkey imported the maximum volume of sunflower oil in 5 years
About 93 thousand tons of sunflower oil were imported into Turkey in November 2021. Such data are cited by OilWorld (Germany) analysts in their report, stressing that these figures are the maximum for this month over the past five years.
Compared to October 2021, the indicators of product imports to Turkey more than doubled.
Most of the sunflower oil in the reporting period was imported to the Ottoman state from Russia and Ukraine – 81 thousand tons and 11 thousand tons, respectively.
“Increased demand for the product may persist in the coming months against the background of the fact that Turkey has extended the zero duty on the import of sunflower oil,” experts from OilWorld (Germany) predict.
Since the beginning of the current MY (September-November) Turkey has imported 156 thousand tons of sunflower oil (115 thousand tons in the same period last year), incl. 135 thousand tons from Russia.
