In Moldova, the harvest of major agricultural crops fell by more than a third in 2022
According to the results of the past calendar year, the volume of agricultural production in the Republic of Moldova has significantly decreased compared to the level of 2021 – by almost 30%, according to the data of the Bureau of National Statistics of the Republic of Moldova.
In particular, there is a decline in the crop and livestock sectors – by 36.9% and 2.6%, respectively.
According to official data, the gross harvest of sunflower seeds decreased by 35.3% to 621.6 thousand tons; soybeans – by 39%, up to 30.8 thousand tons
A decline is also recorded for grains: the wheat harvest decreased by 45.6%, to 851.1 thousand tons, corn – by 74.8%, to 705 thousand tons.
