IMF approves new $500 mln tranche for Ukraine

The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has decided to allocate another tranche to Ukraine within the framework of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF).
Thanks to this, Ukraine will soon receive another ninth tranche under the EFF program in the amount of about $500 million, the press service of the Ministry of Finance reports.
“The IMF noted the progress of the Ukrainian side in fulfilling the conditions of the EFF program as of the end of March 2025. The Ukrainian economy remains resilient, and the indicators of the implementation of the EFF program remain high, despite the conditions of a full-scale war. All quantitative performance criteria and indicative targets as of the end of March have been achieved. Ukraine has fulfilled two structural milestones,” the ministry specified.
In addition, legislative amendments have been submitted to the parliament to introduce tax reporting requirements for digital platform operators, and a report on the results of the NABU external audit has been published.
“As a result of the successful review, Ukraine will receive a tranche of about $500 million in the near future. Thus, the total amount of payments under the EFF program will be $10.6 billion,” said Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko.
As reported, following the results of the latest review of the cooperation program with the IMF, the head of the Fund’s mission in Ukraine, Gavin Gray, stressed the importance of mobilizing domestic revenues in Ukraine in the medium term, since external support alone will not be enough.
