IGC raises global wheat production forecast to 811 mln tons

The International Grains Council (IGC) has raised its forecast for world wheat production in 2025/26 by 3 million tonnes to 811 million tonnes. The estimate for 2024/25 is 800 million tonnes.
The forecast for wheat consumption in 2025–26 has increased by 2 million tonnes compared to the July review, to 816 million tonnes. In the 2024/25 season, consumption is estimated at 804 million tonnes (plus 2 million tonnes compared to the July estimate). Carry-over stocks for the current season are estimated at 264 million tonnes (minus 1 million tonnes), and carry-over stocks for the 2024/25 season are 269 million tonnes.
The total grain harvest (wheat and feed grains) in the 2025/26 season is estimated at 2.404 billion tonnes, including 1.299 billion tonnes of corn.
