Iceland to consider buying grain for Syria from Ukraine

Iceland may start purchasing Ukrainian grain to send it to Syria. Icelandic Foreign Minister Thorgerður Katrína Gunnarsdóttir said this at a press conference in Ukraine. The country will also continue to provide assistance in demining and defense, following the Danish model.
The new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iceland has now made her first foreign visit in this position. The Minister noted that the trip to Ukraine emphasizes the importance of supporting Ukrainians.
“We would like to emphasize Iceland’s continued solidarity with the people of Ukraine and our commitment to provide political and practical support to Ukraine in the humanitarian, economic and defense spheres. As much as you need,” she said.
