Growing demand for corn in Indonesia driven by expansion of feed production

In Indonesia, all domestically produced corn is used for animal feed, with poultry accounting for about 90% of consumption, according to the USDA.
Feed demand is growing as broiler and layer flocks grow. To support this growth, feed mills are projected to produce 21.4 million tonnes of poultry feed in 2024/25, raising total feed production to 23.3 million tonnes, up 3% from the previous year. This increase has led to increased corn consumption for feed, estimated to reach 9.3 million tonnes in 2024/25 and 9.4 million tonnes in 2025/26.
With rising poultry consumption and an improving economic environment, corn remains an important feed raw material and supports Indonesia’s growing demand for affordable protein.
Further development of the grain sector in the Black Sea and Danube region will be discussed at the 23 International Conference BLACK SEA GRAIN.KYIV on April 24 in Kyiv.
