Grain reserves in Kazakhstan exceed 19 mln tons
As of January 1, the stocks of grains and legumes in Kazakhstan amounted to more than 19 mln 259 thsd tonnes, including wheat – more than 15 mln 731 thsd tonnes. This was reported by the Bureau of National Statistics.
Out of the total amount of grain, food stocks amounted to 15 mln 366 thsd tonnes, seeds – over 1 mln 406 thsd tonnes and fodder – 2 mln 486 thsd tonnes.
There were more than 13 million 510 thousand tons of milling wheat in storage, more than 1 million 137 thousand tons in the seed stock, and more than 1 million 083 thousand tons of fodder.
According to the State Statistics Service, there were about 7 million 212 thousand tons of grain in the storages of agricultural producers, more than 5 million 068 thousand tons in elevators, about 3 million 660 thousand tons in farms, and more than 16.6 thousand tons in the stocks of organic chemical producers. Stocks of flour millers amounted to over 1 mln 489 thsd tonnes and about 1 mln 424 thsd tonnes of other legal entities.
Barley stocks at the beginning of the month amounted to 2 million 246 thousand tons: 1 mln 005 thsd tonnes of food barley, 172 thsd tonnes of seeds and 1 mln 069 thsd tonnes of feed barley.
In addition, Kazakhstan’s corn stocks amounted to 193 thousand tons, rice – 258 thousand tons, rye – 24.7 thousand tons, oats – 266.9 thousand tons, buckwheat – 96 thousand tons.
